Privacy Policy

This Policy explains what personal data Fluera processes when you use https://fluera.com and related Fluera features.

1. Controller And Contact

Fluera is operated by Maxim Kapitonov, based in Montevideo, Uruguay (“Fluera”, “we”, “us”). We determine the purposes and means of processing personal data for the service.

2. Data We Process

We process only data needed to run, secure, and improve Fluera.

We do not intentionally collect payment card data because Fluera does not accept user payments at the effective date of this Policy.

3. Why We Process Data

We process data to:

• create and identify your account;
• let you sign in and keep your session secure;
• save learning progress, vocabulary, and preferences;
• provide lessons, exercises, review, and support;
• prevent abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and technical incidents;
• understand how the product works and improve Fluera;
• comply with legal obligations.

4. Website Cookies And Analytics

The Fluera website uses cookies and local storage for login sessions, preferences, security, and product operation.

We also use limited analytics to understand whether the product works correctly. At the effective date:

• first-party Fluera analytics records basic product events through Fluera’s own API;
• Microsoft Clarity is active and may collect usage information such as interactions, approximate device/browser data, heatmaps, and session replay data.

You can restrict cookies in your browser. Some Fluera features may stop working correctly.

4a. Browser Extension

The extension works on the sites you give it access to. It reads selected text and subtitles in your browser. Only what a translation needs is sent to our servers.

What is sent

When you translate a word, it is sent to the Fluera dictionary on our servers. If the dictionary does not have the word, Fluera translates it with an AI model, together with the sentence it appears in, and keeps the translation of the word for all users.

Machine translation is a separate setting. When you translate text longer than one word, the extension sends it with the translation languages, and Fluera translates it with an AI model. We use only providers that do not retain requests.

Disney+ subtitle translation works only if you turn it on in the settings. The extension then sends the subtitle text in parts, with the languages. The video title, its address and the playback position are not sent.

The extension never sends the page address, your browsing history, cookies or the whole page. Like any network request, our requests carry an IP address: it is needed to deliver the response, prevent abuse and apply the daily limits.

Account

Connecting a Fluera account is optional: the extension works fully without one. If you connect it, your saved words and their context are added to your account vocabulary.

Analytics

The extension has no analytics or session recording. The website analytics described in section 4 run only on fluera.com pages.

Controls and deletion

You can manage site access in the extension and in Chrome. You can export your local dictionary as JSON or CSV and delete it. Uninstalling the extension can remove local data, so export it first. Words already added to your account are deleted in your vocabulary on the website. To delete account data, see section 8 or write to [email protected].

5. Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell personal data. We may share data only when needed for:

• hosting, CDN, security, email delivery, logging, and other technical providers;
• AI translation and speech synthesis providers, through OpenRouter, for the extension’s machine translation, translations of words missing from the dictionary and new word recordings;
• sign-in providers, only when you choose that sign-in method;
• analytics providers listed in this Policy;
• compliance with law, lawful requests, or protection of Fluera and users.

Third-party providers process data under their own terms and privacy notices where applicable.

6. International Processing

Fluera and its technical providers may process data in countries other than your country of residence. We use this only as needed to operate the service and protect data.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy.

Account and learning data is generally kept while your account exists. Security logs, backups, and support records may be kept for a limited period after deletion if needed for security, legal, or operational reasons.

8. Your Choices And Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of your data.

You can update some account data in your profile. To delete your account and related personal data, use the Fluera account deletion page. If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will complete deletion within 5 business days unless we must keep specific data by law or for legitimate security reasons.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS, access controls, backups, and operational monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

Fluera is not directed to children below the age at which they can legally consent to data processing in their country without a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data without proper consent, contact us.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy when the service, analytics providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The current version is available at https://fluera.com/privacy.
