How Fluera works: lessons, vocabulary, review and sprint

Fluera connects learning and repetition in one cycle. You meet useful words in a lesson, practise them in different exercises, keep them in your vocabulary and return to them through review, mistake practice or a quick sprint. Ready-made and custom word lists let you choose exactly what to train.

1. Choose a language and starting level

First, select the language you speak and the language you want to learn. Then choose the description that best matches your current level. Fluera uses that choice to open a suitable learning path, so a beginner and an experienced learner do not have to start in the same place.

2. Follow short lessons by topic

The learning path is organised into practical themes. A lesson introduces a manageable selection of words and gives you several ways to work with them rather than asking you to read a long glossary.

Depending on the word and activity, you may see a translation and pronunciation, examples that show meaning in context, recognition and recall questions, and listening, matching or typing exercises — with immediate feedback on every answer. This variety helps connect the written form, sound and meaning of a word.

3. Build a personal vocabulary

Words from your learning activity are kept together in your vocabulary. You can return to a word card to see its translation, transcription, audio and examples, and use the vocabulary as a clear picture of what you are currently learning.

Your vocabulary is not just an archive. It supplies the focused practice modes that help you remember words after the first lesson.

4. Review at the right moment

The “Review” mode creates a short session from words that are ready to be reinforced. Instead of restarting a whole topic, you work with a focused selection from your vocabulary.

The separate “Mistake practice” mode concentrates on words you previously answered incorrectly. This makes a difficult answer useful: it becomes a signal about what deserves another attempt.

5. Practise recall with Sprint

“Sprint” is a quick timed mode for recalling translations. The short format is useful when you have only a few minutes or want a faster change of pace after a regular lesson. It complements the learning path; it does not replace explanations, examples or longer practice.

6. Use ready-made or custom word lists

Fluera includes convenient public lists for useful themes, levels and real-life situations. Choose a list, inspect its words and start practising without assembling material yourself.

When you need something specific, create a custom list. It can contain vocabulary for a trip, class, exam, work project or personal interest. You decide what belongs together instead of adapting your goal to a fixed course.

Share a list by link

An owner can enable access and send a private link. Anyone with that link can open the list and practise it, even when the list is not published in the public catalogue. The owner can close access later. This is a simple way to prepare one vocabulary set for a friend, learner or study group without making it searchable for everyone.

7. Continue on web, iPhone and Android

The web version and mobile apps use the same account-based learning experience. When you sign in, you can continue with your vocabulary and progress on another device.
